Transformation of the Day: Vanessa lost 51 pounds. At the beginning of 2020, she decided to try the Ketogenic lifestyle, brining her carbs to 20 net carbs per day. Going Keto has improved her health in a number of ways and showed her that she can achieve what she puts her mind to, with dedication and patience.
When did you start your journey?
I started practicing a Ketogenic lifestyle in January 2020 (01/03/2020). I’ve lost 51 pounds, and I have no intention of stopping. Keto saved my life! I’m no longer pre-diabetic or suffering from migraines, tiredness, and achy joints.
What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
What inspired me to keep going, even when I wanted to give up was the thought of what I could be if I kept moving forward. I knew I was unhealthy and not happy with myself, so I had to keep pushing.
How did you change your eating habits?
I changed my eating habits by following a Keto diet. I counted all my macros, and I stayed under 1300 calories and 20 net carbs for the day. I completely cut out all sugar, pasta, rice, bread, alcohol, and fast food.
What did your workout routine consist of?
My workout routine consisted of going to the gym 4-5 days a week and doing cardio only. I worked out on the treadmill, elliptical, and rower mainly. I also would ride my bike from time to time.
Starting weight/Current weight
My starting weight was 217 pounds, and my current weight is 166 pounds.
What is your height?
My height is 5’6″.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned thus far is that I cam capable of anything as long as I put my mind to it. I know its cliche. However, it’s very true because if you stick to something and want it badly, you can achieve it with dedication and patience.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
The advice I would give other women wanting to lose weight is to be consistent and patient with your weight loss. It takes time, and you must work on it consistently.
Also, don’t compare yourself because every single woman is different in some way. Your journey may not be the same as someone else’s. I know its easier said than done with all the technology and information out on the internet, but you must trust the process and listen to your own body.
I also would want women to know to stick with it and don’t beat yourself up if you’ve fallen off track. We are all human, and there is always a new day to start over and be great again.
