How to make a slice of avocado toast in one minute for breakfast or a snack with a balanced macronutrient profile and a pinch of spices to enhance energy and alertness.

One of my children eats avocado toast for breakfast almost every day. I thought I would share the recipe since it is such a simple and nourishing breakfast with a good balance of macronutrients including plenty of concentration boosting fats.

Most days, she makes it herself. Sometimes, if she is pressed for time getting out the door for school, I will make it for her. It typically takes about a minute or two to make one slice.

If you love avocados, you’ll have to try it yourself.

Of course, the type of bread you use is very important to the nutrition of this dish. I buy sourdough bread from a family bakery that delivers freshly baked loaves right to your door! Several options are available including:

  1. Whole wheat sourdough
  2. Multi-grain sourdough
  3. Oat sourdough
  4. Rye sourdough
  5. Spelt sourdough
  6. Sprouted sourdough (my personal favorite)

Whatever brand you choose, just be sure the bread you use to make avocado toast is an authentic sourdough to ensure maximum nutrition and ease of digestibility.

Easy Avocado Toast

How to make a slice of avocado toast in about one minute for breakfast or a snack with a balanced macronutrient profile and a pinch of spices for energy and alertness.

Instructions

  1. Cut a ripe avocado in half and scoop out the contents into a small bowl. Mash well with a fork.

  2. Squeeze a quarter lime (or lemon) into the mashed avocado and add a pinch of cayenne pepper and optional collagen peptides. Mix well.

  3. Spread the avocado mixture on one slice of toasted sourdough bread.

  4. Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt flakes on top. They add a bit of crunchiness and flavor that is amazing! Serve and enjoy!
